Deaconess Kim Slininger: (207) 356-4554
Deaconess Kim Slininger graduated from CTSFW in 2016 with her MA in Diakonal Studies. Her call to Hope Lutheran Church is to reach and support the Veterans and active military in the area. While going through Chaplaincy Pastoral Education classes, she was able to experience first-hand the use of horses in healing moral injury. Deaconess Kim has been working to bring Equine Therapy to Central Maine since 2017.
Spirit Warrior under the direction of Hope for Healing 501(3)c is the result of this effort. The Equine Facility is located in Hartland, Maine where there are currently a herd of seven horses to work with as Spirit Warrior continues to develop specialized programs to bring hope and healing to those who have suffered trauma.
Currently the Spirit Warrior program offers one on one sessions where an individual will begin to develop a relationship with a horse and work on those barriers to a healthy relationship.
Spirit Warrior has also partnered with Paladin Therapy which offers Occupational Therapy from Chris Hubbard and Ebenezer Farms where guests can work with Michelle Ervin, who is a physical trainer.
If you are interested in any of the programs, please contact Deaconess Kim at (207) 356-4554. Or if you would like to support Spirit Warrior, donations should be made to Hope for Healing, 462 Main Rd S., Hampden, Maine 04444.
