Congregation at Prayer

Congregation at Prayer is a guide for meditation and prayer for the week.

Each week you will be encouraged to meditate on and commit to memory a Scripture verse, a section of Martin Luther’s Small Catechism, and a hymn of the week as a part of your daily prayer and devotional time. This will encourage us to reflect more deeply on the unchanging truths of God’s Word.

Verse of the Week: John 16:16

“A little while and you will not see Me any more; and again a little while and you will see Me.”

Hymn of the Week: With High Delight Let us unite LSB#483 Verse 1

With high delight let us unite In songs of great jubilation.

Ye pure in heart, All bear your part,

Sing Jesus Christ, our salvation.

To set us free Forever, He

Is risen and sends To all earth’s ends

Good news to save every nation.

The Catechism: Creed—Table of Duties–To Husbands

1 Peter 3:7

Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers.

Colossians 3:19

Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them.

The Collect for Jubilate
O God, who showest to them that be in error the light of Thy truth to the intent that they may return into the way of righteousness, grant unto all them that are admitted into the fellowship of Christ’s religion that they may avoid those things that are contrary to their profession and follow such things as are agreeable to the same; through Jesus Christ, Thy Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with Thee and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen
